SAN DIEGO PRIDE!

Picture
A weekend full of unity and love, located in the heart of SD. San Diego PRIDE Weekend at Balboa Park is one that I will never forget. A few weeks ago I attended LA Pride and left pretty much disappointed in the entire thing, so when it came time for SD Pride I wasn't sure what to expect! From the moment my lyft dropped me off (super easy drop off btw) I was blown away at how put together the event was. I entered the festival and right away was greeted with smiles and tons of colorful flags! There's something so beautiful about being in an environment where you feel safe and welcome!
Sometimes it's tough for us that are part of the LGBT+ community to feel that.
I started my day off with a quick bite to eat and then went straight to the main stage! I was granted a media pass for the festival & parade, so I was excited to get up close and photograph the artists! Kim Petras (KWEEN!) was first on my list, and I got some pretty awesome shots! (POSTED HERE!) If you don't know who Kim is, you're missing out on so much talent! She always serves good vocals and stellar looks. Def recommend checking her out. (PS: she followed me & DM'd me after i took her pics! she even posted them on her IG!) After her set, I took a walk around the festival and got to see all the different booths and vendors they had! I loved the layout of SD Pride, it felt very open and spacious, without being overbearing and making things feel like a far walk. They had a few different stages, with different themes/music for each. I enjoyed my time at all the stages and caught some candid moments on the dance floor!
Some of the other artist I got to photograph were Jojo & TLC! It was so hard trying to take pictures and not dance/sing at the same time! LOL. See some of my favorite shots below! Overall, SD Pride was an amazing experience and I definitely will be back next year!

Awesome article and great photos! We totally dominated the media present, which matters because we brought a politically explicit message and elevated and inspired everyone there! Great work!
